New logo = New Website

Good Morning Everyone!
Positive Praise has been in the background the past few years. I haven't done much with the name and have only been working under my name. That is going to change in 2019. I have a new logo drawn by my son and soon a new website will be launched. I also have plans in the making for some classes in Holly Springs for the basic obedience. Hopefully those will start in April. Stay tuned for more information.

In the meantime, follow me on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram. Search for Positive Praise NC.

Thank you!

100 Questions in 100 Days

Did you ever wonder why your dog attacks the vacuum cleaner?

Does your dog growl at family members?

Is your dog afraid of men?

Are your dogs "jealous" of each other?

These are a few of the questions Carolina Pet Angels is posting answers to in their 100 Questions in 100 Days blog. They have asked me to even answer some of these questions.

Feel free to check out and follow their blog.

Its Cold Outside

The end of the week is going to be a cold one.
Here are some tips to protect your pets.

1- Bring them inside. If they are outside animals, make sure they have adequate shelter and if possible, bring them into the house/ garage. Their fur is not adequate protection from the elements.

2- Wipe fur, paws and tails thoroughly to prevent accidental ingestion of salt, antifreeze or other hazardous chemicals when they clean themselves. This will also prevent their pads from becoming cracked and bleed from frozen pads.

3- For dogs with very thin fur, put a coat or sweater on them for longer periods of time outside like on walks. With dogs that need shaving, plan to shave in the Fall with plenty of time for it to grow back before the bitter cold hits in the Winter.

4- In the winter, a car can act like a refrigerator. Do not leave your pet alone in the car for a long period of time. They can freeze to death locked in the car too long.

5- If they spend a lot of time outdoors, increase their food intake to keep their fur in excellent shape and keep their weight up. A lot of energy is spent to keep warm so more food is necessary to keep them healthy.

6- check outside water bowls several times a day to make sure they are not frozen over.

Sorry!

I apologize for the last post. The class registration form was not supposed to be published yet as I do not have start dates.
More info will be sent out soon I promise.

2015- New Year! New Opportunities!

I know it has been a while since a post. The holidays have been busy. For 2015, I am planning on holding 30 minute training sessions on different topics. Most likely these sessions will be held outdoors (weather permitted) at a park in Holly Springs on Saturday mornings. I am working on finding a good location in the next week or so. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to email me or comment on this post. I will also try to add a weeknight once the weather/time changes.

I am also looking for topics to briefly address on this blog. If you have any dog training related questions you would like to see addressed on my blog, email me.

As always, I am here for private lessons or general advice. Pricing for the private lessons is listed on the About page. If you are interested in a private, please submit a "Request for Consultation" form to get you scheduled.

Happy New Year!
